Purpose

The Greater Victoria Afghanistan Memorial Project (GVAMP) Society is the registered name of the organization incorporated under the British Columbia Societies Act to create a memorial to honour the 163 Canadians who gave their lives and the over 40,000 who served in Afghanistan to help provide a better future for the children of that country.

As the project has taken on a British Columbia focus, it is commonly know as the Afghanistan Memorial Project.
